What we collect
When you join the Tar Heel Nation newsletter, we collect your email address, selected email preferences, consent date and signup source. We also retain your subscription status so we can honor unsubscribe requests.
When you request price and availability for a THN product, we collect your email address, selected product, quantity, optional shipping ZIP or postal code, optional note, and request status. This request does not subscribe you to marketing emails.
We collect limited first-party analytics such as pages viewed, referring source, anonymous browser and session identifiers, newsletter signups, links followed within ReadTHN and clicks to other websites. We do not store IP addresses or attach browsing activity to newsletter email addresses.
Facebook and Instagram integration
When an authorized Tar Heel Nation administrator connects a Facebook Page or Instagram professional account to ReadTHN Publisher, Meta may provide the administrator’s basic Facebook profile identifier, the identifiers and names of connected business assets, granted permissions, access tokens, and publishing-response information such as post identifiers and status. ReadTHN does not ask ordinary site visitors to sign in with Facebook or Instagram.
We use this information only to identify authorized THN-managed accounts, publish administrator-approved editorial and promotional content, confirm publishing results, maintain connection security and troubleshoot the integration. Connecting the integration does not authorize ReadTHN to publish without the administrator’s direction.
How we use and retain information
We use product-request details to assess demand, check availability and shipping, and reply with the price and an optional payment route or an estimated availability date. We use newsletter and analytics information to send the emails you selected, understand readership and improve coverage. Anonymous analytics events are retained for historical reporting rather than discarded after the dashboard’s current reporting window.
Meta account credentials and connected-asset identifiers are retained only while needed to operate and secure the authorized integration. Limited publishing and security records may be retained for troubleshooting, fraud prevention and legal compliance. We do not sell personal information or use Meta integration data for advertising profiles.
Your choices
You may change your daily-roundup, weekly-roundup and breaking-news selections or unsubscribe through the unique links included in newsletter messages. We retain a limited suppression record after unsubscribing so we do not accidentally add you back without new consent. A product request is nonbinding; you can ask us to remove it by contacting THN.
An authorized administrator may disconnect ReadTHN Publisher through Meta’s Business Integrations settings or request deletion of stored integration data. See our Facebook and Instagram data-deletion instructions.
